Our Mosquito Pest Control Treatments
Mosquitoes breed fast in stagnant water.
Flower pot trays, roof gutters, gully traps, or even a forgotten pail in the yard are easy breeding grounds for them to multiply inside and outside your homes. At Pest Free, we use multiple methods and mosquito pest control machines to control their populations.
Thermal Fogging
We use thermal fogging to create thick white smoke that instantly kills adult mosquito populations in open areas. This is one of the most common mosquito control methods in Singapore. It involves using oil-based chemicals to eliminate mosquitoes quickly.
Water-Based Fogging
Another technique to kill mosquitoes is water-based fogging. It is similar to thermal fogging but uses water instead of diesel. This method leaves zero oily residue and is a more eco-friendly option. Fogging is also safe for kids, pets, and can be performed even during business hours.
Larviciding
Larviciding is a mosquito control treatment that kills mosquitoes before they grow into adults. We treat stagnant water where larvae grow using granules, oils, or liquids. This is a prevention technique that reduces future infestations and is used in areas where the water cannot be drained.
BTI Treatment
BTI is a fully natural and environmentally friendly way to stop mosquitoes from growing. It is a bacteria-based treatment that kills mosquito larvae without harming humans, pets, or aquatic life. We introduce BTI spores into drains, ponds, gutters, and any stagnant water sources.
Mosquito Trap
We also use multiple mosquito traps that monitor and control dengue-carrying mosquitoes 24/7. Suction and passive mosquito traps use non-toxic and eco-friendly agents to target mosquitoes where they breed and rest. They also offer long-term protection with minimal chemical use.
Choose Pest Free for Reliable Mosquito Control
We deliver NEA-approved pest control treatment in Singapore for all residential and commercial properties. Since every space is different, we customise our 5-step mosquito elimination plan to suit different needs. Our trained team carries out safe and successful mosquito control in the minimum amount of time.
Expert Protection During the Rainy Season
At Pest Free, we offer multiple mosquito control plans that protect you through all seasons but especially when the rain starts falling.
Mosquitoes breed in stagnant water as shallow as a 20-cent coin. The vector insects multiply rapidly during the rainy season when there is plenty of water lying around. The peak dengue season is from May to October. However, mosquito bites caused more than 5000 dengue cases in the first 4 months of 2024, according to the National Environment Agency (NEA).
You can check if your area is in a dengue cluster at NEA’s website.

Tips for Mosquito Prevention
The best way to deal with mosquitoes is to stop them from breeding in the first place. It can be tough to remove them without professional help after they spread widely around your property. You can follow some simple tips to prevent mosquitoes from spreading diseases.
- Remove Stagnant Water It is best to regularly check and empty pails, flowerpot plates, canvas sheets, and pet bowls. Also, clear choked drains and keep roof gutters clean to prevent water buildup.
- Monitor Plants and Algae You can trim large plants and shrubs to deter mosquitoes from resting near your property. Mosquito larvae also feed on algae in ponds or fountains, so be sure to clean them out regularly.
- Seal Entry Points Install fine mesh screens on windows and doors to keep mosquitoes out of your home or office. You can also seal any gaps around window and door frames with weatherproof caulk or filler.
- Use Physical Protection Make it a habit to wear fully covered clothes at dawn and dusk to protect against bites. Use mosquito nets around your beds, particularly for young children and the elderly.
- Use Repellents and Insecticides As the last line of defence, you can use mosquito repellent with active ingredients like DEET, picaridin, or IR3535. Spraying insecticide behind curtains and under furniture is another way to kill hiding mosquitoes.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
What are the signs that I need to fog my premises?
You may need to fog your premises if you notice frequent mosquito bites, buzzing sounds, or see mosquitoes flying around, especially at dawn or dusk. Reports of dengue or Zika nearby and when your area is listed as a dengue cluster on NEA’s website, are also clear warning signs.
How often should I fog my premises?
Mosquito breeding is widespread in Singapore’s tropical climate and fogging helps control adult mosquito populations and disrupt their breeding cycle. Fogging once every 1–2 months is ideal. However, during peak mosquito season or in dengue cluster areas, we recommend fortnightly treatments. You can contact us for more advice on a custom schedule based on your environment.
Is the treatment safe for pets and kids?
Yes, our mosquito treatments use NEA-approved, pet-safe, and child-friendly solutions. However, as a precaution, we recommend keeping children and pets away from the treated area for at least 1–2 hours. This helps minimize exposure to chemicals until the mist or fog settles and dries completely.
How long does the treatment last?
Mosquito fogging offers instant knockdown of mosquitoes and has no residual effect and regular treatment is needed for ongoing protection. Water-based misting, on the other hand, lasts up to 2 weeks outdoors and 1 month indoors. Environmental conditions such as wind, rain, and the presence of breeding sites also affect the longevity of results. At Pest Free, we combine fogging with other measures like larviciding to extend the effectiveness of mosquito control.
Can I be present during the treatment?
We recommend you to remain indoors with windows and doors closed during thermal fogging to avoid direct exposure to insecticides. You can stay onsite during water-based misting and eco-friendly treatments. Our team will guide you based on the treatment used.
